The World of Trade Shows has changed over the past few years – but options abound in the HR Sector
Remember when one of the world’s largest trade shows was Comdex in Las Vegas, NV? The trade show landscape has certainly evolved since then; as advances in technology have led to new experiences for attendees and innovation drives these events in new directions. As Rebecca Grier writes in her column, ‘Trade Shows – Evolving through Innovation,’ “Organizers and exhibitors are finding new ways to expand the reach of trade shows and ensure increased success in the face of a reviving economy and evolving marketing trends.”
But what does all this trade show activity and evolution mean for those in the human resources industry? We here at Neocase Software, purveyors of the premier HR Shared Services Solution, continue to sponsor and exhibit at many industry events around the world to demonstrate our wares and meet with HR professionals – establishing new customer relationships and showcasing technology to address challenges. Here are a few things we, and others, have learned about the changing event landscape…
Highlighting technological innovation is key. Attendees are looking for ‘value-add’ solutions to integrate into their corporate architecture and culture. Exhibiting firms offering robust technology showing clear ROI will win the day. Buyers are more knowledgeable than ever before – making interactive exhibits – that directly involve them and clearly show a solution’s features and benefits paramount. “The more adept you are at incorporating new technology into your event, the more likely you are to see productive and cost-effective results,” according to Kristine Mason of Marketing Professionals in her column ‘Seven Ways Corporate Events and Tradeshows Are Evolving.’
Premier HR Events in the latter half of 2015 include:
- HR Shared Services & Outsourcing Summit – featuring strategies and solutions for developing, implementing & optimizing the HR Shared Services model (Oct. 5-8 – Orlando, FL)
- IHRIM Annual Conference – highlighting the latest trends in HR information management (Sept. 16-19 – Atlanta, GA)
- 18th annual HR Technology Conference – the world’s leading conference & expo on technology for Human Resource executives and professionals (Oct. 18-21 – Las Vegas, NV)
- HR Tech World Congress – the world’s foremost congress & expo for global HR leaders featuring the largest gathering on the future of work and technology (Oct. 27-28 – Paris, FR)
So while the Internet has made it possible to connect with people from far-flung corners of the world at the click of a button, trade shows continue to flourish. Their abilities to provide myriad opportunities to experience a wide variety of technological solutions in one place; as well as the interaction with the people behind those solutions – all under one roof – should not be underestimated. HR is, after all, all about personal connections – so see you at the next show!
