‘Twas the night before Christmas
And all through HR,
Not a creature was stirring
Except for Mazar.
He was an agent
In the shared service center,
And was working a case
Of a recent dissenter.
Mary Jane it does seem
Had worked there for years.
But her quick resignation
provoked many tears.
She had decided
to change her career,
And transfer up north
to the land of Reindeer.
Meanwhile for Mazar,
The case deadline was nearing,
And missing the SLA
Is what he was fearing.
Off-boarding he thought,
Was so “off-the-shelf,”
But he’d never done one
For an employee-turned-elf.
He searched and he searched,
But could not find a trace
Of information about elves
In the HR knowledge base.
Then it suddenly struck him
Like eggnog with rum,
And he couldn’t believe
That he’d been so numb.
What an employee becomes
When she leaves the organization
Matters not to the process,
So he stopped his fixation.
He closed out the case
With a minute to spare,
Then he danced and he danced,
Just like Fred Astaire.
The last case was closed,
And he’d got it so right;
He shouted "Merry Christmas to all,
And to all a good night!"
